Volunteering
Micah prides itself in maximizing the hands, hearts, and feet of local servants. Our volunteers embody the call to Do Justice, Love Kindness, and Walk Humbly with God.
Whether you want to get your hands dirty working on a property beautification project, be a friend to a neighbor overcoming homelessness, or help people connect to community resources — there’s a little something for everyone.
The relationships formed while walking alongside our neighbors and staff could not be replicated anywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions
Micah currently has volunteer openings in each of our ministries. Help provide for basic needs at our community hospitality sites, pass out mail at our Neighbor Care Center, prepare a home-cooked meal for our Respite House, mentor a newly-housed neighbor in our Housing Ministry, join in worship with our homeless neighbors during Street Church, and much more. We discuss all opportunities in detail at volunteer orientation — email Alacia at [email protected] if you have specific questions.
Complete one of the applications above (individual, group, or community service). When you submit, you’ll be prompted to RSVP for a volunteer orientation. Once you complete orientation, you can use our online volunteer portal to sign up for shifts.
The biggest requirements are a willingness to meet our neighbors where they are with patience, love, and kindness. All volunteers working directly in our ministries must be at least 16 years old to volunteer without a parent.
Orientations are held the first and third Friday of every month at 2:30 PM in the Upper Room of the Neighbor Care Center, 1013 Princess Anne Street. We’ll discuss Micah’s philosophy, structure, and ministries, plus all volunteer needs. RSVP after filling out your sign-up form, or email [email protected].
Yes! Families with children can volunteer with our church partners, or do off-site tasks like making sandwiches for bagged lunches or collecting items. Sign up using the ‘Individual’ option above.
Micah uses Volunteer Impact software to schedule volunteer shifts. All volunteers use this portal to sign up, cancel shifts, and track hours. Current volunteers can sign in using the link at the top of this section.
